Even verified feelings sometimes require a new impulse. The iconic Levis 501 jeans are no exception. Turn them into a maxi skirt!
You will need:
Ready-made jeans; cutting knife; sewing threads; tailor's chalk.
For the lower skirt: chiffon 150 cm wide, 1.05 m long; elastic tape shir. 7 mm; threads for sewing.
How to do:
Denim skirt:
On trousers, unfurl the hem of the bottom and step seams. Spread the front middle seam below the seam for attaching the zipper, the rear middle seam - from the back yoke. Fix the ends of the seams. Spread open legs to face each other.
On the front half on the step seam, measure 22 cm from the top and make a mark. At the bottom edge of the leg, mark approximately the distance. 14 cm from the back step seam. From the top to the bottom mark, draw a tailor's chalk with a wide arch neckline. To cut. Remove the pins. Fix the ends of the side seams with a fastener, pull the fringe along the cut edges. Use the cutout fabric as a wedge year on the back of the skirt.
Paste the left front half on the inside of the face onto the right front half, sewn under the zipper. Paste the left back half on the right back half. Try on and check the fit.Stitch the left back half under the yoke. For a year, the cut-out part is stitched on step seams, for which, on the face, lay slices on each other. Wedge a year to chop under open sections of the trousers and scribble. Cut off allowances from the inside.
Underskirt:
Fold the chiffon inside out to the inside for a width of 75 cm, grind slices 105 cm long to 7 mm wide. Iron allowances. Unscrew and iron so that the seam lies exactly in the fold. Stitch the fold at a distance of 1 cm, iron allowances to the side. Fold the skirt so that the seam (middle of the back) lies in the fold. On the contrary, measure the seam in the middle of the front from the bottom 20 cm up, make a mark. At the bottom edge at a distance of 35 cm from the midline also apply a mark. Cut the skirt sheet along the top mark in the shape of an arc to the side marks. Wrap the bottom edge with a narrow, tight overlock stitch (curled hem) or a tight zigzag. Iron the top edge of the skirt inward to a width of 2.5 cm, tuck to a width of 1.2 cm and iron. Stitch the edge at a distance of 1 cm for the drawstring under the elastic, while leaving a hole of approx. 3 cm for threading gum. Using a safety pin, thread the elastic into the drawstring, stitch the ends (taking into account the waist circumference). Stitch the hole in the seam.
