A tuxedo is one of the things women borrowed from men's wardrobe, and today it is a great alternative to an evening dress.

Smoking jacket from English is translated as a “smoking jacket” and its history goes from the old customs of an aristocratic society: at balls and evening parties gentlemen retired to special rooms, where they could freely smoke cigars, and so that the ladies would not complain about the smell of tobacco from clothes, they put on special "jackets for smoking." Accordingly, after visiting the smoking room, the tuxedo was again changed to its evening vestment.
I must say that despite their utilitarian purpose, tuxedos were quite luxurious, and their distinguishing feature was satin lapels - and this also has a special explanation. When smoking a cigar, a real gentleman does not shake off the ashes, this was considered indecent, and allows him to fall freely - it is clear that with such liberty he regularly falls on the gentleman himself! But satin lapels can be easily shaken off without fear that a trace will remain.
Since then, women have achieved equality not only in the social aspect, but also in terms of clothing, so it’s not surprising that such a purely “masculine” thing, like a tuxedo, migrated to our wardrobe. And you, of course, do not have to smoke to wear it.

Who will go for a female tuxedo?

Absolutely and without exception to all. This is the case when a thing is absolutely not tied to either the type of figure, nor to growth, or to any other parameters. Of course, tuxedos can also vary greatly in style, but they all look equally thin and full.

The obvious characteristic of the tuxedo is its elegant style, which implies wearing this outfit both for a solemn occasion and as an option for a more informal evening out. Some models look stricter, some are less mandatory, but in any case, you should understand that a tuxedo is always an event, and most often it is an event that you could wear an evening dress.
Tuxedo in the office? Yes, but only if we are talking about peculiar hybrids of a tuxedo and a usual jacket, without an accentuated gloss and chic, otherwise you run the risk of embodying the well-known live phrase about going to work like a holiday.

What to combine a female tuxedo with?

Of course, with trousers - but their style is limited only by your imagination! It can be narrow cropped trousers, and popularly beloved marlin trousers. Of course, a combination of a tuxedo with a skirt and a dress is acceptable, but in this case there is no universal advice - you can either get a spectacular combination at the output, or a “mixture of French with Nizhny Novgorod,” so caution should be exercised.

There is a more daring image, which, by the way, often flashed on the red carpet and on the pages of magazines - a tuxedo on a naked body. A truly bold option, so its relevance is determined at your own peril and risk.

As for the accessories, they should be concise and restrained: a clutch, matching shoes, a string of beads or a complete absence of jewelry. Massive jewelry on the neck can look spectacular, but you need to select them very carefully.
But it is safe to say that even the complete absence of additional accessories does not damage the charm of a tuxedo. A well-chosen tuxedo can overshadow even the most spectacular evening dresses!
